Sullivan's Island

The wide, sandy beaches of Sullivan's Island invite vacationers and residents alike to sun, surf and frolic in the gently rolling waves. Joggers, bikers and shell-seekers each find plenty of wide-open space on this  beach to pursue their interests, and so will you! Sullivan’s Island also offers plenty to do when you’re ready for more than a relaxing day in the sun. Visitors enjoy public tennis courts and a community playground. The Charleston Lighthouse is a fascinating point of interest too! Located on the south end of Sullivan’s Island, this working lighthouse has aided navigators for more than 100 years. Fort Moultrie, a revolutionary war-era fort, also on the south end of the island, offers history and nature buffs the perfect place to explore our nation’s heritage in a tranquil, outdoor setting. Sullivan’s Island is home to many great restaurants. So, if you’re ready for a quick, light lunch or a fine seafood dinner, you’re sure to find it on Sullivan’s Island.


 

Isle of Palms

A quick hop over Breaches Inlet Bridge, on the north side of the island, is the fabulous Isle of Palms.  Settle in for days, weeks or years of island fun and adventure in one of our spacious homes, condos, villas or cottages, either on the Isle of Palms or in the Wild Dunes Resort, many with spectacular ocean or marsh views.  We have a wide array of accommodations designed to suit any size family or budget!

This semi-tropical delight has much to offer the discerning traveler, as well as those who live here! In addition to the many island activities to choose from, beautifully preserved dunes line wide, white beaches where singles and families gather to enjoy swimming, shelling, surfing, boating and fishing.

The Isle of Palms County Park, located on the beach at the north end of Front Beach, offers 9 acres of parking and amenities for your convenience. The Isle of Palms Recreation Center has a wide assortment of activities and facilities for the young and young at heart! The Isle of Palms also offers a tempting assortment of water sports and land athletics.

Looking for a new suit for the season? Browse through the many island boutiques, where you can find everything on your shopping list! When your shopping is done, stop in one of the many fine eateries on the Isle of Palms and indulge in everything from Shrimp Creole to Haagen Dazs! 

Ready for a walk on the “wild side”? Lucky nature enthusiasts may spy a member of the island’s natural wildlife community, including deer, ospreys, bottle-nosed dolphins and giant sea turtles.

The Isle of Palms is also home to a premier resort community, Wild Dunes. Located on the northern tip of the Island, Wild Dunes is a spectacular gated community designed to ensure you experience the very best in coastal living. Mount Pleasant

Ready to expand your adventure? Take a quick trip over the preserved marshlands to the mainland, and explore the nearby town of Mt. Pleasant. Once a quaint fishing village, Mt. Pleasant provides an appealing selection of shops, restaurants and points of interest to all who visit here. You can also visit Shem Creek, where you will find many of the finest seafood restaurants the area has to offer.

The newest haven for the discriminating shopper, the Town Center, located on Highway 17 just south of the Isle of Palms Connector, offers a fine assortment of shops, boutiques, restaurants and a stadium style movie theater.

While in Mt. Pleasant, you can also visit the U.S.S. Yorktown at Patriots Point. Explore this fascinating World War II aircraft carrier, then hop on the ferry to Fort Sumter.  Situated in the middle of the Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter is an intriguing Civil War site, largely known as the site of the first shot fired in the War.

Fairs and festivals galore continually keep the greater Charleston area alive with fun and excitement. No matter what time of year you plan to visit, you can be sure there will be a special event scheduled just for you!  The Lowcountry Oyster Festival kicks off the year in early February, followed by the hugely popular Southeastern Wildlife Festival. The Cooper River Bridge Run gives locals and visitors alike the opportunity to get some exercise while supporting a worthwhile cause. The Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto Festivals bring 17 days of fine theater, music, drama and dance to delight and entice you. Scottish Days, the Taste of Charleston and other fun-filled events guarantee everyone a great time in the Charleston area. And don’t forget to visit one of our amazing antebellum plantations while you’re here! Boone Hall, Magnolia Gardens and Drayton Hall are just a few of the pre-Civil War era plantations that grace the area with splendid southern homes and gardens.
